About the filmmakers
In 2016 Peter Jickling left the Yukon to write in Toronto. His resulting poems document subjects ranging from subletting to subways, illuminating quiet moments amidst noise. Sometimes sad, often funny, and always humane, Downtown Flirt is an outsider’s account of urban life.

Brendan Preston was born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon. He has a Geography Degree from Mount Allison University and a Film Diploma from Vancouver Film school. He’s now a freelance film professional based in his hometown of Whitehorse. He wears many industry hats – Director, Cinematographer, Camera Operator, Editor, Producer, or all of the above – depending on the size and scope of the project. Since graduating from Vancouver Film School in 2010, he has been working in the film industries in Vancouver, Boston and the Yukon. His work can be seen in National Geographic Magazine/Channel; CTV; CBC Documentary Channel; Air Canada; Knowledge Network; ZDF Germany; Much Music; and countless online platforms.
